The Advanced Professional Business Coaching Programme (APBCP) provides a solid foundation to help you transition into a seasoned, credible professional coach. As organisations evolve, they increasingly seek coaches who can partner with leaders, managers and teams through change—supporting business optimisation, individual and group development, and navigating the digital revolution. No matter the organisational context, most companies now require credentialed, experienced business coaches with proven capacity to co-create an inclusive, sustainable future. This experiential programme blends personal development, professional competency and organisational context—equipping you with everything you need for the next stage of your coaching career. By participating in this programme, you will: • Acquire essential business and organisational coaching context • Participate in observed coaching sessions (triads) with feedback from an ICF credentialed coach • Access 7 hours of group mentor coaching • Access 3 hours of individual mentor coaching • Participate in experiential immersions with organisational context • Undertake a final performance evaluation A Deep Journey of Professional Transformation Throughout the programme: • You will access collective wisdom grounded in philosophy and practical application, supported by the academic credibility of Africa’s leading business school. • You will learn to partner with clients in accessing and empowering their authentic mindset, enabling new possibilities. • Your systemic perspective and understanding of context, business, leadership and organisational culture will strengthen your ability to coach in dynamic environments. • You will master transformational learning, supporting individual and collective meaning making and growth. • You will gain exposure to cultural intelligence and global relevance, enriched by African nuance. The programme comprises 13 days of live instruction over a nine month period, hosted on the GIBS campus. Successful completion of the APBCP (including 100% attendance and all self study requirements) provides: • 99 hours of coach specific training for ICF credentialing • 10 hours of mentor coaching for ICF credentialing • Full ICF Level 2 pathway, including performance evaluation, toward PCC credentialing • Eligibility to apply to IMCSA for Individual Coaching Membership • 15 CPD points from the South African Board for People Practices (SABPP) Accreditation Structure This programme, together with the Professional Business Coaching Programme (PBCP), is approved at COMENSA Silver level and at ICF Level 2. As the APBCP is experiential in nature and integrates theory with practice, a number of coaching sessions must be observed by COMENSA and ICF credentialed coaches. These take place during the programme and within individual mentor coaching sessions. By the end of the programme, participants can confidently apply the COMENSA and ICF core competencies in their professional coaching practice.
